Beginning with monoprints and photography from the 1980s, this exhibition follows the lineage of Nixson Borah’s practice towards his recent digital composites. Influenced by the tradition of shadow-puppet theater from southeast Asia, contemporary dance, printmaking, and layering processes, Borah’s digital composites are a culmination of decades of exploration, curiosity, and imagination.
Friday, January 6 from 5-8 PM: Begin Again, a choreographed dance piece by Heather Gray inspired by the the images, shapes, textures, and process of Nixson’s work, and greatly influenced by his story. Admission is free and all ages are welcome. Hosted in conjunction with Art After Dark. Performances at 5:30, 6:00, and 6:30 PM.
