SLOMA Museum Circle members are invited to an exclusive preview of RED at SLO REP on Thursday, October 13 at 7 PM; doors open at 6 PM for a special pre-show reception.

See the play before the public premiere thanks to our cultural partners at SLO REP!

Winner of the 2010 Tony Award for Best Play, RED takes us into the mind of abstract expressionist Mark Rothko, for whom paintings are “pulsating” life forces and art is intended to stop the heart. RED chronicles the tormented painter’s two-year struggle to complete a lucrative set of murals for Manhattan’s exclusive Four Seasons restaurant, and his fraught relationship with a seemingly naïve young assistant, who must choose between appeasing his mentor—and changing the course of art history.

Please RSVP through the form below by October 6. Questions? Email SLOMA’s Admin Assistant Rowan Waters or call us at (805) 543-8562.

This event is presented in collaboration with SLOMA’s cultural partner, San Luis Obispo Repertory Theatre, SLO County’s only non-profit regional theatre presenting a year-round season of professional, live theatre in downtown San Luis Obispo.
