Nico Vandenheuvel is a Dutch-born artist. As a young man, he studied advertising design and then attended the fine arts academy in Rotterdam. In the 1950s, he lived the Bohemian life of a starving artist in Paris. In 1958, he and his wife immigrated to the United States and opened an art gallery in Venice, California. In the 1970s, he published a newspaper in Topanga Canyon. Now he lives on a ranch in Cayucos and continues to paint and sculpt in realistic, Cubist, and abstract styles.
