The San Luis Obispo Museum of Art invites the public to experience a special outdoor exhibition on the Museum lawn featuring student work from San Luis Obispo High School’s Dedication Purpose Leadership Academy (DPLA).
Through striking black-and-white photographs, students explore identity, origins, and possibility using photographs of objects, places, and scenes as symbolic representations of who they are and who they are becoming. Each image is paired with a personal prose statement reflecting the artist’s past, present, and imagined future. Installed in SLOMA’s outdoor public spaces, this evening exhibition celebrates youth voice, storytelling, and the many ways personal narratives shape our shared community.
This event is presented in connection with SLOMA’s monthly First Fridays program. Admission is free and open to the public.
