Lou Stillwell lived in San Luis Obispo County during the formative years of the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art, beginning with the formation of an Art Association in the 1960s and then renamed the San Luis Obispo Art Center in the 1990s. Lou Stillwell was a talented amateur painter.
