Roberta Jean Owen lives in the Frazier Park area of Bakersfield, California. A large exhibit of about two dozen pieces of her work were exhibited at the Bakersfield Art Association’s Art Center in 2010. Many of those landscapes were forest scenes or of Lake Castaic and a street scene of Newhall.
Roberta Jean Owen works with oils and acrylics, with bold strokes in strong color. Now in her late 70s, she studied at Chouinard School of Art, Otis Art Institute and Pasadena School of Fine Arts. She also has done commissions for the Kern County Library, most notably those at the Arvin Branch Library.
