Alexander Depue was a young Graphic Arts major at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo when he submitted this photograph into a SLOMA juried exhibition open to all California photographers. Morro was juried into New Visions 2017 by juror George Lepp, one of North America’s best-known contemporary outdoor and nature photographers. Mr. Lepp had this to say about the statewide exhibition, “It’s been many years since I have judged an exhibition for SLOMA, and I very much enjoyed experiencing the advances in content, creativity, and technique being demonstrated in this exhibition.” This photograph of Morro Rock by Alexander Depue was subsequently selected by the juror for the “Best of Show.”
