Tony Hertz lives in Grover Beach and was a photographer for the Tribune for a number of years. He had a one-person show in the First Gallery in Spring, 2008. He teaches photography at Cuesta College and prefers to photograph natural and rural subjects.
The Carrizo Plains is in eastern SLO County and is a protected national monument with a number of unique species.
