Spring 2024

Dear Friends of SLOMA,

This Spring we are really focused on making sure that our community of supporters is aware of our patron group, the Museum Circle

This group is integral to our ability to curate exceptional exhibitions, offer innovative and free public education programs like our artist talks, Second Saturdays, and First Fridays, and ensure that SLOMA remains an anchor for our County’s arts and culture.

Patron groups have long been foundational to museums all around the world including the Louvre, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the LA County Museum of Art. These groups create communities of dedicated individuals who share a commitment to the arts and lifelong curiosity.

By joining SLOMA’s Museum Circle you’ll enjoy exclusive benefits that elevate your museum experience including:

  • Intimate events: Circle members are invited to preview new exhibitions before the crowds. Have a glass of champagne and visit with the artist all before the crowds descend. Join us early for Adam Parker Smith’s opening on Friday, March 22.
  • Camaraderie: Connect with like-minded individuals who share your interest in the arts through exclusive gatherings including an upcoming salon exploring the life and work of Camille Claudel who was among the most daring and visionary artists of the late 19th century. Although she is remembered today for her dramatic life story—her passionate relationship with artist Auguste Rodin and 30-year internment in a psychiatric institution—her art remains little known outside of France.
  • Recognition: Your generosity will be acknowledged prominently within the museum, highlighting your crucial role in sustaining SLOMA for future generations.

And while the Museum Circle begins at $1,000 annually (or about $80 a month), we want to emphasize that every gift, regardless of size, is significant and contributes to the future of our museum. You can join the Circle or make a donation online.

As friends of SLOMA each of you contributes to a collective effort where every supporter is valued and can lead to profound and lasting impacts.

THANK  YOU for your curious minds and generous hearts.

Leann Standish
SLOMA Executive Director
