SNCC: A Film by Danny Lyon
Date: Saturday, Apr 24 at 8 PM
A documentary film by legendary photographer and filmmaker Danny Lyon
Description
As an extension of Richard Fusillo’s We All Bleed photography exhibition, SLOMA, R.A.C.E. Matters, and SLOMotion Film are proud to present a screening of SNCC.
A documentary film by legendary photographer and filmmaker Danny Lyon, SNCC features Lyon’s iconic photographs of John Lewis and other activists from the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee. The film, through imagery and sound, will dive deep into the hotbed of 1960s youth activism. Join us in-person under the stars, or virtually from the comfort of home.
Danny Lyon will be joined by Patrisse Cullors, Executive Director and Co-founder of Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, in a live Zoom conversation preceding the screening.
In-person screening: We are excited to announce that there will be a limited, socially distanced outdoor screening at the parking lot across from SLOMA in downtown San Luis Obispo. There will be food and drink for purchase. In-person ticket holders will have the opportunity to book a timed walk-thru of the exhibition We All Bleed at SLOMA; a link to reserve your entry time will be included with your ticket confirmation from SLOMotion Film.
Virtual screening: We are excited to announce that there will be a virtual option to watch on SLOMotion’s Eventive platform (available online or as an app on Roku & Apple TV).
Tickets for the in-person and virtual screenings are available through SLOMotion Film at www.slomotionfilm.com/events/sncc.
