Description

Overview

Learn enough to play for a lifetime! Pocket Sketching is the perfect technique for travel journaling, hiking, biking, sauntering, or sitting in the park. Capture a scene in 25 minutes or less using a water-soluble pen, a 4 x 6 inch pad of paper, and a small paint set. Ideal for the timid beginner to paint fearlessly in public, as well as the advanced artist who wants minimal equipment, total portability, speed, no interruptions, and no clean-up. This is a great workshop for new painters as well as experienced painters interested in plein air painting. All experience levels welcomed.

This virtual workshop will consist of 5, 90-minute sessions over 2 1/2 weeks. Students will enjoy an interactive format, with instructive demonstrations, homework, and critiques, all given in a very positive manner in each session.

Session one (Aug 11): Water soluble pen and perspective of contrast
Session two (Aug 15): The pen and how to use with watercolor: the perspective of color
Session three (Aug 18): Landscape, focal point and importance of timer
Session four (Aug 22): Landscape and the use of wax as a resist
Session five(Aug 25): Still life with flowers

There is far more material covered than fits in these descriptions!
