The San Luis Obispo Museum of Art presents M’Lou Mayo: 50 Years of Art. This retrospective celebrates Mayo’s 50 year-long career of creating multi-media artwork and features works on paper, metal, photography, and weaving.
Mayo’s passion for art led her to an art degree from Scripps College and then eventually to Claremont Graduate School, where she eared a Masters degree in Art Education. Mayo moved to San Luis Obispo in the 1970s and began teaching art at Cuesta College, where she taught for 25 years, focusing in the areas of design and drawing. All the while, Mayo continued her own artistic endeavors and explored a variety of media, unique materials, and artistic techniques.
Enjoy an opening reception and opportunity to meet the artist on November 1, 2019 from 6—9 PM in conjunction with Downtown SLO’s Art After Dark. Admission is free and light refreshments will be served.
