The Great Wave, Jennifer Hope, porcelain

On view in SLOMA’s McMeen Gallery, Metamorphosis explores the concept of change, growth, and rebirth. Artworks in a variety of media are featured, including fused glass, textiles, ceramics, and woodturning. From geological events, to the change of seasons, artists explore rejuvenation in many forms.

Artwork selections were made my juror Julie Dunn, who holds a BA degree in drawing and painting from Cal State Fullerton and a teaching credential in Art Education from National University. Her art career has spanned over 35 years and includes graphic design, architectural illustration, textile art-to-wear, mural design, and painting. Dunn co-owned L’Artiste Gallery for 3 years followed by the Gallery at the Network for 15 years, both located in San Luis Obispo. She currently co-owns the Park Street Gallery in Paso Robles.

The Museum will host an opening reception with the artists on Friday, February 7 from 6 to 9 PM. Admission is free and light refreshments will be served. For more information about the Central Coast Craftmakers and SLOMA’s affiliated artist groups, visit SLOMA.org.
