Wilshire Hospice and community collaborators present the 5th Annual Dia de Los Muertos, a family-friendly celebration that bridges cultures to honor the dead and comfort the living.
On Thursday, November 1 at 7 PM, join a candlelight procession. Meet at the corner of Marsh Street and Morro Street, proceed through Downtown San Luis Obispo and the Farmers’ Market, and end at the Museum of Art.
On Saturday, November 3 from 10 AM – 3 PM, enjoy a community celebration in SLO Mission Plaza. The festival begins with a procession & altar blessing through Mission Plaza and the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art. Traditional altars, vendors, Ballet Folklorico Dancers, Aztec Dancers, Mariachi musicians, poets, artists, art activities, costume and altar contests, traditional Mexican food, a Death Cafe, and a raffle to benefit Wilshire Hospice and their patients.
SLOMA will host fun, free art activities in the Nybak classroom during the Saturday celebration.
